Skin is an ideal test bed for longevity therapeutics. Skin is accessible through local delivery and benefits are directly visible. This makes testing faster and easier. It could even allow for multiplexed studies of multiple agents on human skin using imaging endpoints.
The potential market is massive for younger looking skin. There are nearly 200 million Americans over the age of 30 and around 4 billion globally. In the US, over 100 million women use skincare products and ~80 million women have a skincare routine.
People often dismiss longevity therapeutics as delusions of living forever, or say they don't want to extend old age. True skin rejuvenation can flip the narrative. People will see and feel the immediate benefits of a younger tissue. This can inspire people to believe in longevity medicine.
